Explain your role at xtraCHEF.

I’m the Content Marketing Manager, which can mean a lot of things within the lens of a startup! Right now, I’m focusing on creating more content for our blog and optimizing our social presence so people can get to know more about xtraCHEF, what we do, and the people who work here.

What did you do before you came to xtraCHEF?

Throughout my career, I’ve had all kinds of content-adjacent roles, from editing and writing to managing the production of videos and other visuals. Most recently, I was a content strategist for the agency arm of another NYC tech startup, researching, developing, and running content marketing programs for major names in healthcare.

What do you love about xtraCHEF?

I’ve been here for less than a month, but I’m already struck by how friendly and welcoming my colleagues are. My first day was a day-long company-wide meeting, which helped make me feel like part of the team from the start.

Why are you passionate about the restaurant industry?

I’ve been obsessed with restaurants since I was very young. I love the performance of the industry, and how those experiences can be transformative or at least offer a brief escape from reality. I also think that the industry is one of the few areas where the American dream can still thrive. Thinking about chefs like Cristina Martinez (of South Philly Barbacoa), her story, and how she’s been able to use her experience and her newfound fame to fight for immigration rights is incredibly inspiring. I want to help tell more of these stories, and support software that enables small businesses like this to truly thrive.

What do you do when you’re not working?

Hang out with my rescue dog, go to local shows, or plan my next trip. My husband and I love to travel: we got engaged in Big Sur, got married in New Orleans (see pic below), and honeymooned throughout Portugal and Spain. I’m also in a very committed relationship with my Classpass membership.
